Polar V800 Screen issue

Time wears out eventually. Even my V800 had an issue with the screen after two years of use.

Last month some of my personal equipment required maintenance. Imac required a replacement graphics card, Bianchi's Campagnolo Veloce right shifter started malfunctioning and was not gearing down.   Now my TRI watch. Damn!

So newest fail was was a problem on the screen of V800. A film inside the gorilla glass began to peel off and extended gradually to the centre of the screen. From the related problems I 've read on the internet when that issue appears, it finally becomes completely uncomfortable to see the screen and it doesn't feel look nice at all.

More than two years of use for cycling, running and swimming workouts as well as use as a full-day business was not at all cost-free. everyday use training and racing for two half iron and one full Ironman race.
V800 case
This was the defected part. Repair and replacement with a new case costed me  62 € in the official service in Greece.

V800 was the top Polar's choice for triathlete and endurance sportsmen of all kinds but now Polar Vantage V has arrived and while it is a new release soon it will be a new standard choice.

Polar Vantage V

Vantage...

Hello from California. Hope all is well. I see you've made the transition to the fourth event, the one following your last tri. Way to go! Glad you were able to repair your V800. Despite the scratches and torn band, I still use mine, although at the moment I'm only riding on the indoor smart trainer (Robert Grant).

Congrats bro SierraBob you got PERTAMAX...! hehehehe...
